Undergraduate Advisor
I am the Department of Political Science undergraduate advisor and I also hold a position with the Great Plains National Security Education Consortium as the Director of Academic Programs for the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. I also teach courses in international relations and comparative politics including courses on the U.N., the E.U., human rights, globalization, and US foreign policy here at the University.
I received my PhD from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and am also a Lincoln native. When I am not in the office or the classroom I enjoy photography, SCUBA diving, and riding my bike. I love to travel and I have been to more than a dozen countries in Asia and Europe.

I enjoy the variety of experiences that my position provides me and that no two days are ever the same. I love the interaction that I have with the staff, students, and faculty in the academic setting.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family; in particular my granddaughter. Seeing the world through the eyes of a toddler is so refreshing and keeps me young at heart. I also enjoy cooking and exploring new recipes, but mostly I enjoy sampling different ethnic cuisines.

David is the Department's Guy Friday who, perhaps not surprisingly, also inhabits the main office the other days of the week. He does not do windows. Being connected with political science has made him more interested in how the world of politics 'works'. That, perhaps surprisingly, has not made him particularly surly. When not in the office, David writes and directs plays - do come see one if it's at a Nebraska Union near you!
