Dr. James Kimble (Class of '89) had his book, Prairie Forge: The Extraordinary Story of the Nebraska Scrap Metal Drive of World War II, named the 2021 One Book One Nebraska, as designated by the Nebraska Library Commission. In his time as an undergrad, Kimble was a dual-major in Communication Studies and Political Science, as well as an active member of UNL's Speech & Debate team. He is currently a Professor of Communication at Seton Hall University.
Katie Czapanskiy studied law at Marquette University Law School. Katie was named the Wisconsin Bar Association's Public Interest Law Student of the Year. She is a two-time Public Interest Law Society Fellow and President of the Public Interest Law Society. Through events at Nebraska, Katie knew she wanted to use her law degree to assist underserved and at-risk communities. Katie loved The Big Event and other philanthropic events through Phi Sigma Pi.
