First annual Women in National Security Symposium is Feb. 22

The first annual Women in National Security Symposium, hosted by the university's Intelligence Community Scholars, aims to cultivate leadership skills and highlight the obstacles women in national security face. The afternoon events are free and open to the public. Anyone interested in a career in national security is encouraged to attend.

Meet with recruiters from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Security Agency, and other government organizations.

3:30 p.m. Professional Panel
Five career professionals from the Department of Defense, U.S. Senate, and the intelligence community will talk about their careers and the increasing role that women are playing in national security fields.They will discuss challenges they have faced as women in this field and their experiences working in a high stakes environment. They will also offer career advice and address topics such as political objectivity, advancement opportunities, and work/life balance.
