For the 10th annual Hoagland Lecture Series, Jeff Zeleny returned to his alma mater.

The lecture, held on Oct. 5 in the Sheldon Museum of Art, gave the public to hear from Zeleny about exercising the First Amendment with today's government. On Oct. 6, Zeleny held a forum with journalism and political science students to share advice for being successful, answer questions about CNN and talk about the differences between Trump's administration and past administrations.

Zeleny, originally from Exeter, Nebraska, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after majoring in journalism with political science, history, and sociology minors. Now serving as the senior White House correspondent for CNN, Zeleny covers everything related to the current administration.

Co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science, the Peter J. Hoagland Integrity in Public Service Lecture Series seeks to inspire young people to dedicate themselves to public service. The annual lecture series rotates between the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
